Orlando City SC announced a contract extension Friday for midfielder Dagur Dan Thorhallsson.
The 24-year-old Iceland international’s new deal runs through 2026 with an option for 2027.
Thorhallsson has two goals and three assists in 24 MLS matches (22 starts), matching the totals he posted in his first season with the club in 30 games (12 starts) in 2023.
“Since Dagur has arrived at the club, he has proven himself to be someone who is adaptive and versatile in all situations, showing a willingness to do whatever the team requires of him in any scenario,” general manager Luiz Muzzi said.
“His dedication to hard work and to his teammates is visible every day. He’s a consummate professional, both on and off the pitch, and we’re excited to have him representing our club for the foreseeable future.”
Thorhallsson originally signed a two-year contract with Orlando City when he arrived from Iceland’s top flight in January 2023.
