The Seattle Mariners and free agent outfielder Victor Robles agreed to a major league deal, the Seattle Times and ESPN reported Monday.

Robles, 27, was designated for assignment by the Washington Nationals on May 27, and the club requested unconditional release waivers on him Saturday.

Robles spent his entire major league career with Washington before the Nationals decide to part ways and create opportunities for younger prospecs. Robles began the 2024 season batting .120 (3-for-25) with two RBIs in 14 games.

Robles was part of the Nationals’ 2019 World Series winning team and started 135 games in center field that season.

In 530 games since breaking into the majors in 2017, Robles is a career .236 hitter with 31 homers, 156 RBIs and 70 stolen bases.

The American League West-leading Mariners plan to start the righty-hitting Robles primarily against left-handed pitchers, ESPN reported.
