Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh was placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a right hamstring strain suffered in Sunday’s loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Marsh, 26, appeared to suffer the injury on his leadoff single in the bottom of the eighth inning of the 5-4 home loss, but stayed in and advanced to second on Nick Castellanos’ single. Marsh grabbed at his right leg while rounding second base and called for the trainer. He was then lifted for a pinch runner.

In his second full season with the Phillies, Marsh is hitting .265 with six homers and 26 RBIs in 52 games. The former Los Angeles Angel has hit .260 with 31 homers and 157 RBIs in 389 games since entering the league in 2021.

In a corresponding move, the Phillies selected the contract of outfielder David Dahl from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Dahl, 30, has played for the Colorado Rockies, Texas Rangers and San Diego Padres over parts of six seasons and has hit .271 with 43 homers and 161 RBIs in 331 games. The Rockies selected him 10th overall in the 2012 draft.

Philadelphia also placed infielder Kody Clemens on the 10-day injured list on Monday with low back spasms, retroactive to Friday. Infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson was recalled from Triple-A to fill Clemens’ roster spot and right-hander Michael Rucker (hand) was transferred to the 60-day injured list.

Clemens, 28, has played in 17 games in two stints with the Phillies this season and has hit .256 with three home runs and 10 RBIs. In parts of three seasons with the Detroit Tigers and Phillies, he has hit .200 with 12 homers and 40 RBIs in 120 games.

The 29-year-old Wilson has a .211 batting average, eight home runs and 35 RBIs in 51 games at Triple-A this season. He made his major league debut with the Phillies last season, hitting .313 with a home run and two RBIs in eight games.
