Former NFL defensive back and three-time Super Bowl champion Tim McKyer was arrested in Florida for a hit-and-run.
The Chiefs-Ravens matchup will be the real Super Bowl
According to police documents obtained by TMZ, McKyer allegedly hit five parked vehicles in a Riviera Beach parking garage before fleeing. Police noted all five cars had visible damage, and some were left “inoperable.”
When the Riviera Beach Police Department made contact with McKyer, the 60-year-old was reportedly showing signs of inebriation. Police claimed McKyer reeked of alcohol and struggled to balance. The former NFL player was taken into custody and transferred to a nearby hospital. McKyer then reportedly admitted he was the only one who had driven his Tesla that evening and was later booked on five charges of hit and run.
McKyer played 12 total seasons in the league with the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, and Denver Broncos. The former third-round pick out of Texas-Arlington began his career as a corner on Joe Montana’s 49ers. The journeyman cornerback won three Super Bowls – two with the 49ers in 1989 and 1990, and one with the Denver Broncos in 1998. McKyer logged 33 career interceptions in 170 games played.
He’s due in court on March 4, according to reports.
